Bicycle Mechanics Pre-Apprenticeship Course

A specialized course to introduce students to the bicycle industry. You will learn from the ground up in a hands-on workshop environment. This certified course will teach you the skills and techniques to help build you a career in the industry. Most students that leave this course will be able to perform bike builds, accessory installation, minor servicing/tune ups and have the understanding of how a Service Department operates.

The course includes, but is not limited to: 

  • History and Evolution of Bicycles
  • Bicycle 101
  • Bolts, Threads, and Torque
  • Basic Cleaning Techniques
  • Bicycle Componentry and Classes
  • Lubricants, Oil, and Grease
  • How to assemble a Bicycle from a box
  • Introduction to Service
  • Full component understanding from brakes to drivetrain to frames
  • Customer Service
  • Inventory 
  • Consumer Parts and Accessories
  • Installation of Accessories
  • Includes a Copy of Park BBB3 Mechanic Manual
  • Westwood Cycle U-Wrench/Park Tool School Certificate of Completion at the conclusion of the course

U-Wrench students must supply their own bicycle to work on during courses

All U-Wrench students are eligible for 15% off tools and cleaning supplies purchased at the time of course

All U-Wrench students will be supplied with a clipboard, pens, and paper for note taking and reference
